The shoot’s been done, the images chosen and worked on, together we’ve looked at how to best display those images. Will it be a beautifully presented photograph in a personally designed statement frame, a traditional canvas or a really funky acrylic, or a contemporary boxframe? Would you like a selection of images in one of our gorgeous lifestyle albums? The choice can be even more daunting than choosing the pictures. By the time we get to choosing frames or thinking about albums we’ve got to know each other pretty well and I have an insight into your lifestyle and personal taste. That means I can show how to display your photographs in the best way for you, your taste, style and budget.
Personally designed for you
I’ll show you the different options and explain what will work best in your home, what will suit your decor and colour schemes. I’ll measure the wall space so I know what will fit perfectly and what won’t. If I don’t think something will work I’ll explain why, and suggest a more suitable alternative. The decision is always yours but I want to be sure that what you choose will look fantastic and be a constant source of pleasure.
All of my frames, canvasses and acrylics are made to measure for each client. This means we can show off your images in the best possible way. People sometimes ask if it’s more expensive to have individually made frames than using standard frames. Yes it is, because it’s not mass produced. Compare a hand tailored suit from a Saville Row Tailor with a cheap, off the peg suit from a high street retailer. The Saville Row suit will continue to look good for decades, the high street alternative will good for a few wears and then start to look shabby. And that’s the difference; classical quality that will stand the test of time. Each frame and mount is chosen and designed for each picture.
Albums and photo books
For a wedding, an album or coffee table book is an essential. For a lifestyle portrait shoot, having an album or coffee table book is a really nice treat and a beautiful way to capture those special family memories at a key point in time. You can buy cheap albums and photobooks. They’re much cheaper than mine and they look cheaper too. I work with Folio Albums and Queensberry for my lifestyle portrait albums, wedding albums and Booked Images for my coffee table books. All three companies use traditional craftsmen to produce their products to the highest standard possible. Every album and book is individually designed by my designer and overseen by me at every stage so that the finished item not only looks fantastic but also feels fantastic. All my images are colour corrected and individually prepared so that the album and book producers can get the very best possible printing results. That extra preparation just isn’t possible from high volume producers selling over the internet.
