I’m often asked about couples portrait sessions and I’m doing more and more each year. The funny thing is that whilst many people think they are only for young people, the reality is that more couples in their fifties, sixties and seventies are booking couples portrait sessions as a treat for themselves.
It used to seen as being a bit self-indulgent but now it’s becoming quite a normal thing to have. There are a few reasons. People enjoy an active life for much longer than in the past, they make new relationships, have more free time to enjoy together and it’s fun experience to do together.
The photograph featured in this post is of Ann and Iain from their session in Chester. It was a wet afternoon but that didn’t stop us. Using a city location as a backdrop is great because you can stop off for coffee or a G&T if you fancy a break during the session. It’s shown in natural wood frame from our Nordic range with an off white Duo mount. I photographed this using available light with my Fuji X100F which is perfect for this kind of work.
